Dr. Lundsten, Superintendent of the Cranston Public Schools, recognizes that when children and youth attend school on time and every day, they are far more likely to graduate ready for college and careers. Therefore, she has initiated the Cranston Public Schools Attendance Counts! campaign. In collaboration with 30 committed community members from every sector of the city, the Attendance Counts! Task Force began working in the spring of 2014. The Task Force will be developing a multi-year plan that includes educating everyone of the importance of school attendance and using data carefully to identify and support students and families.
